A self-portrait is a representation of an artist, drawn, painted, photographed, or sculpted by the artist. Self-portraits have been made by artists since the earliest times. In the later 20th century and more so in the 21st century, new techniques and video are playing a part in furthering self-portraiture (artworks, crafts, videoblogs, digital self-portraits, selfie, etc.).
